You’ve found the perfect wedding dress – now it’s time to find the perfect wedding day accessories. Your jewelry, veil, shoes and hair piece make just as big of an impact on your final look as your dress. In fact, they can make or break your look, precisely why accessories are such an important component of your wedding day style. Of all the wedding day accessories, jewelry can be the most difficult items to choose for a bride. Many brides-to-be struggle with deciding what type of jewelry looks best with their dress, reflects their personal style and matches their wedding’s style. To make the decision a bit easier, we’ve created a jewelry style guide based on the type of dress the bride has chosen. We hope this helps save you time and keeps you looking stylish.![]()
Strapless Wedding Gowns
With a strapless gown, brides can pull off a gorgeous pair of chandelier earrings. Even if the dress has beading, a sparkling pair of chandelier or dangle earrings is high enough above the neckline to compliment instead of clash.
Bateau (Boatneck) Neckline Wedding Gowns
The vintage bateau neckline looks lovely with a small pair of pearl studs or diamond earrings.
Halter & Sweetheart Neckline Wedding Gown

Necklaces with delicate pendants are a great choice for a halter or sweetheart neckline gown. Since the straps are near the neck, avoid any overly large earrings, and try to avoid wearing both earrings and a necklace with a halter gown.

Along with the million other little wedding planning details, many brides also include the tradition of wearing “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue” on their big day. These nostalgic talismans are rumored to bring a bride good luck on her wedding and in love – and who couldn’t use a little extra luck? With that in mind, we’ve found two lovely earring options to serve a bride’s ’something blue’, and hope you’ll love them as much as we do:
1. Aquamarine and Diamond Stud Earrings in White Gold
Understated and elegant, this pair of gorgeous aquamarine and diamond studs would make a stunning something blue. The white gold earrings are small enough to be paired with a necklace, and can even be worn with a dress that has an elaborate neckline or ruffled bolero.
Modern brides will love the minimalist aesthetic, while brides with dramatic dresses can enjoy a touch of sparkle that doesn’t fight with their dress. They’re perfect for adding a pop around the bride’s face without creating a distraction, and will only set you back $250.

2. Blue Topaz and Diamond Earrings in Yellow Gold
Yellow gold has been making a big comeback in the style world, and it’s slowly taking center stage in the bridal realm as well. In lieu of white gold engagement rings, many stylish brides are choosing warm yellow gold for their bands. These stylish brides should choose wedding day earrings crafted in a lovely yellow gold to compliment their ring.
When we saw this amazing pair of blue topaz and diamond earrings set in yellow gold, we fell in love. The style is a little bit vintage yet totally modern, and the earrings are just the right size to make a statement without overwhelming other elements of the bride’s ensemble. At $500, they’re not cheap – but they can certainly be worn forever and passed down to future generations (a something old and a something blue!).

Once you’ve chosen the perfect wedding gown, your wedding day style is only partially complete. Choosing bridal accessories that compliment your dress is incredibly important, since the right ones will accentuate your ensemble while the wrong ones can cause your look to fall flat. Earrings in particular can cause a conundrum for stylish brides, since they frame the face and have the power to change the whole look of your outfit. With that in mind, we’ve come up with a list of wedding day earrings that are timeless in their appeal but modern in their design, allowing them to beautifully compliment a wide range of wedding gown styles.
Bridal Earrings We Love
Chandelier or drop earrings are a great choice for wedding day jewelry since they make a statement and really glam up your dress. Avoid choosing earrings that are too large and can overpower your dress, and focus on simple, classic chandelier designs that will stand the test of time. Here are some of our favorite chandelier earring options for the bride:
14K White Gold and Diamond Chandelier Earrings
These drop earrings (pictured at top) are lovely and understated, yet still pack a glamorous punch. They would compliment an Art Deco style dress or wedding theme to a tee.

Diamond Drop Earrings with Pave
Engagement rings surrounded by pave diamonds hugely popular, and this pair of diamond drop earrings would compliment that style perfectly.
Circle and Oval Drop Diamond Earrings
These circle drop diamond earrings would be just perfect for a modern bride. The of-the-moment design is style forward and will make any bride look like a red carpet diva on her wedding day.
